What is Iridology?
It is a scientific discipline that enables us to understand the reflex states of various organs and limbs of the body through signals detected in the iris, which is the most intricate fibrous membrane structure in the human body. This field assesses an individual's health status, encompassing the condition of each organ, the degree of accumulation within the brain, and physical constitution, while also making evaluations regarding reactions, the human skeletal system, recovery from illness, and overall progression.Just as individuals frequently experience bloodshot eyes when fatigued, the iris is recognized as the region of our body where subtle reactions transpire. The iris has a lower blood circulation compared to other organs and is a highly sensitive area, thus exhibiting a pronounced responsiveness to internal and external changes.
Iridology is a field that examines and interprets the condition of the human iris, encompassing metabolic processes, constitutional diagnosis, and the recovery and progression of diseases. While it remains relatively unknown in Korea, it is garnering interest as a novel form of alternative medicine in the United States and Europe.
This method of disease analysis has been employed in the West for over 150 years and has been the focus of various lectures and discussions aimed at medical professionals, including practitioners of oriental medicine and physical therapists.
The iris develops concurrently with the formation of the brain, and the nerve endings from the brain are concentrated in this region, allowing even the slightest movements of the human body to be distinctly observed. In essence, iridology posits that the color variations and distinctive patterns present in the iris, along with their correlation to different parts of the body, can be readily discerned.
By examining an individual's iris for merely one minute, it is feasible to ascertain, without any discomfort, whether the subject's personality aligns more closely with that of their mother or father. Additionally, a constitution test can be conducted to identify the Sasang constitution types: Taeyangin, Taeeumin, Soyangin, and Soeumin.
One reason iris examination has garnered significant attention is that it serves as a health assessment. It can identify both mild and severe conditions in the individual being examined.
